CHAIRMAN & FOUNDER

Mr. Albert Li - Mr. Li is the founder and chairman of First Asia. Having worked in the banking and finance field for more than twenty years, Mr. Li posess extensive experience in investment banking, fund management, venture capital financing and risk management, particularly in managing the listing process of Hong Kong and PRC companies. During 1983-1986, Mr. Li managed the Treasury Department of the Royal Hog Kong Jockey club and supervised the daily investment activities of a number of portfolio amounting to $2.5 billion.

Prior to founding the Group, he had been the finance director of Carlingford Swire, Assurance Group (now HSBC Life) and an associate director of HSBC Asset Management (Asia Pacific) Limited where he was in charge of nine principal departments including the Derivatine Risk Monitoring Department, the Cash Management Department, Unit Trust Department, Security Department and the Treasury Department. The funds under management were approximately $184 billions.

Mr. Li holds a Master's Degree in Science specializing in the management of New Ventures from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London and a Master's Degree in Economic Law from Zhongshan University of the PRC. He is also a PhD from Peking University specializing in International Finance Law.

He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA), the United Kingdom and the Hong Kong Society of Accountants (FHKSA), an associate member of the Chartered Accountant of England and Wales, the United Kingdom and the President of International Corporate Finance Association.
